  • Front seat-mounted side air bags provide additional chest protection during certain side impacts
  • Full-length side curtain air bags provide supplemental head and upper body protection by deploying in certain side collisions

ADDITIONAL STANDARD SAFETY FEATURES
  • Front active headrests automatically move the headrests forward in rear-impact collisions to minimize the chance of neck injuries...
  • Tire-Pressure minotiring System (TPMS) alerts the driver to a low-pressure condition in one or more tires for better performance and handling and improved gas mileage
  • Front and rear crumple zones are designed to absorb impact energy before it reaches the cabin

When it comes to IIHS safety ratings, the Kia Sedona is the only minivan other than the Honda Odyssey to receive an IIHS "Top Safety Pick" award. In fact, the Sedona, along with its Hyundai Entourage cousin, was the first minivan ever to receive the coveted award. The "Top Safety Pick" award designation is the highest honor available from the IIHS and is reserved for vehicles that achieve the Institute's highest rating in front, side, and rear impact crash test and offer electronic stability control.
