POWERFUL BRAKES

- 4-wheel Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) modulates brake pressure to help prevent wheel lock-up during hard braking situations, helping to give the driver better control of the vehicle and steer clear of potential collisions
- Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD) allows variable brake pressure between front and rear brakes based on vehicle loading or aggressive cornering for improved stability

AVAILABLE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL PACKAGE
- Electronic Stability Control (ESC) helps detect if the vehicle is straying from the driver's intended path, and can correct the situation by adjusting engine power and appplying select brakes to help the driver bring the vehicle back in line
- Traction Control System (TCS) can sense wheel spin during acceleration and counteract it by reducing engine power and/or applying brake force to the slipping wheel and then transferring power to the wheel(s) with traction for increased control and ehnahced responsiveness
- Brake Assist System (BAS) hydraulically assists driver brake input when a panic stop is detected, applying maximum braking pressure to help reduce stopping distanes
- All these features are available on Amanti when odered with the Electronic Stability Control Package
At Kia, we strive to equip our vehicles with a slew of standard features, but never at the expense
of safety. That's why we gave Amanti the only rear seat-mounted side air bags in its class. This
helped Amaanti achieve the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's highest possible rating of
"Good" for exemplary performance in front- and side-impact testing. In fact, the Ford Taurus
and Toyota Avalon were the only competitors that matched Amanti's side-impact rating. Buick LaCrosse
only achieved a "Marginal" rating for side-impact tests, while the Chrysler 300 received a "Poor"
rating. To be fair, the IIHS gave the 300 a "Marginal" rating, but only when equipped with the
optional seat-mounted side air bags and side curtain air bags.
