SAFETY FEATURES
A wealth of other features contribute to Rondo's comprehensive safety:
- Electronic Stability Control helps the driver better maintain control when an unstable condition occurs
- Front active headrests in the front seats automatically move forward and upward in the event of a rear impact to help prevent whiplash
- Side-impact door beams augment occupant protection in the event of a side collision
- Three-point seat belts in all 5 seating positions (7 seating positions on 7-seater models) effectively restrain all occupants
- Height-adjustable seatbelt anchors assure a comfortable belt setting for any size front seat occupant
- For added protection in certain front collisions, front-seat safety-belt pretensioners cinch the belt to help limit forward motion then the force limiters slowly release the tension to help prevent injury from the seat belt

- Dual front advanced air bags enhance collision protection for the driver and front passenger
- Front seat-mounted side air bags deploy in the event of certain side collisions to help protect the occupant's torso, and they move with the seats to help ensure optimal protection regardless of seat position
- Full-length side-curtain air bags provide added head protection for outboard occupants in ALL THREE ROWS in the event of certain side collisions

- Rear 3-point safety belts in all 3 rear seating positions
- Child safety locks prevent rear doors from accidentally being opened
- Side impact door beams in all four doors help protect occupants from certain side collisions
- Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) system helps simplify installation of approved child seats
- Emergency trunk release ensures anyone accidentally locked in the trunk has a way out
ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC)
Rondo offers the confidence and safety of ESC standard on all models:
- Using a series of sensors, ESC can detect if the vehicle is about to lose control and will adjust throttle and/or apply select brakes to help bring the vehicle back on the driver's intended path
- This system is so rapid and precise that it is virtually undetectable to the driver
- ESC works by coordinating the efforts of several individual systems:
- Traction control minimizes wheel-spin by applying select brakes or reducing torque on the slipping wheel
- ABS with Electronic Brake Force Distribution divides power between the brakes to help ensure smooth, straight line stopping power
